Inspired in part by the support and kindness shown by American soldiers in Europe during World War II, the Catholic Congregation of Sisters, known as the Poor Servants of the Mother of God, provided services in the Triad area for more than 77 years. As the needs in the community grew, the commitment to caring continued to evolve into a vibrant retirement lifestyle and a culture of unique, person-centered care. After being approached by the Sisters in 2022, the Diocese of Charlotte was honored to carry on this special mission.
Pennybyrn is not-for-profit, so all resources, programs and attention are dedicated to the well-being, comfort and satisfaction of our residents. Because we also are faith-based, we offer opportunities for spiritual growth and mediation for people of all faiths.
