What type of fees do residents pay?

Residents pay a one-time Entrance Fee, as well as a Monthly Service Fee. The Entrance Fee is based upon the residence selection and refundable Entrance Fee plan options. The Entrance Fee provides the resident with a commitment from Pennybyrn for priority access to all levels of care and services provided on the campus. The Entrance Fee also entitles the resident to 15 “grace days” annually, with a maximum accrual of 45 days. Grace days provide services above those covered by Medicare or a third-party insurance for a Retirement Living resident in a Health Care residence.

Do I get any of the Entrance Fee back?

Yes, Pennybyrn offers financial options which include a refund to you or your estate. These options include up to 90% of your initial Entry Fee investment.

Do I have to pay for everything now?

A 10% deposit will secure your new home and lifestyle at Pennybyrn.  The balance of your Entrance Fee is due within three months of making the deposit.

What happens if I run out of money?

As part of the application process, we will ask for certain basic financial information to ensure that residents of the community have the resources to pay for ongoing service.  This is to protect you and the community.  Once financially approved, residents are assured of lifetime residency, including any needed service that Pennybyrn provides.

Are pets welcome?

Yes. Pennybyrn is a pet-friendly community. While certain restrictions may apply, Pennybyrn recognizes that pets are part of your lifestyle and part of your family.
