A Letter from Rich Newman, President & CEO about COVID-19

Dear Friends,

Over these last weeks, we here at Pennybyrn have been responding to these unprecedented times in various ways to protect, care for and serve the many residents who make Pennybyrn home. Our team has been proactive in implementing many changes and initiatives that, while difficult to have imagined a year ago, are necessary today as we deal with the COVID-19 Coronavirus impacting us all.

We are operating in new ways that protect residents across our community including those in Retirement Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Support and Transitional Rehab. Each area has its unique attributes and challenges. As we seek to maximize infection control protocols and minimize risk associated with person to person contact, we do so with a compassionate and caring heart. We also have put in place various new supportive services to assist our residents at this time.

While we have had to restrict visitors throughout our community, we have helped our residents remain connected to their friends and loved ones through the use of technology and other means. Facilitating communication through the use of our resident engagement tools has been an important means of connection during this time.

Finally, we have been blessed as our community has come together to respond and adjust. We are so appreciative to our incredible leadership and staff who have served selflessly, our residents who have embraced the many changes, and the families of our residents who have responded with understanding. As we move forward through this time together, we do so guided by our mission, which is to “Demonstrate God’s Love for the Lives we Touch”.

Sincerely,

Rich Newman
